James Michael Tate was the 2014 - 2015 Willard A. Oberdick Fellow at the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. He runs the architecture studio practice T8projects and recently co-organized the yearlong series On the Road Project in Los Angeles. Tate has completed residency fellowships at the Auburn University Rural Studio and Common Ground in New York City. He previously taught at Woodbury University and Rice University. Additionally, Tate has worked for Michael Maltzan, MOS, Peter Eisenman and Samuel Mockbee. He holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University and a Master of Architecture from Yale University where he received of the Alpha Rho Chi Medal.
