The project is located in a Masterplan Community that is in the early stages of its development. The current surrounding context will be drastically remade in the next decade. We began by making a series of models of Le Corbusier’s Notre Dame du Haut in Ronchamp, France from memory. Approximation was emphasized with these facsimiles. We then produced another series of studies that focused on the relationship between perceived mass and paper thinness. With that series, the gaps, edges, seams, overlaps, and folds of the model material was used to establish openings and joints of the project. An ongoing conversation about “precise crudeness” revolves around this project.
